Sean Manaea is staying in Queens.
The left-handed pitcher agreed to a three-year, $75 million contract with the New York Mets, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported early Monday morning.
Manaea, 32, is coming off what could be considered the best season of his career. He posted a 3.47 ERA over 181.2 innings, striking out 184 batters, and limiting opponents to a .201 batting average.
He was also a key contributor to the Mets’ run to the National League Championship Series, allowing just five runs across 17 innings in his first three postseason starts. However, he struggled in Game 6, surrendering five runs in two innings.
Manaea will join a rotation that includes Kodai Senga, Frankie Montas, Clay Holmes, and David Peterson, with Tylor Megill and Griffin Canning providing additional depth.
