Judge rules NY prison guards brutally abused inmates

  • / Updated:
  • Staff Report

A judge determined that over 30 New York prison guards viciously assaulted inmates during a 2016 raid at Mid-State Correctional Facility in Marcy. The guards attacked inmates as revenge for a non-existent assault on a corrections officer, inflicting physical and sexual abuse.

Inmates were punched, kicked, sodomized, and had personal belongings destroyed. One prisoner’s family photos were torn, and another’s legal documents were ruined with food. Guards even used fire extinguishers as weapons.

The ruling highlighted the systematic brutality and humiliation inmates endured during the unjustified attack.
