Deputy Supervisor Adeline Cook Rudolph will bid farewell to the Canandaigua Town Board as she assumes her new position as Ontario County Republican Elections Commissioner in January 2025.
Cook Rudolph announced her departure, expressing gratitude for her three years of service on the Town Board, during which she fulfilled a lifelong goal of serving her hometown as an elected official. “Serving on the Canandaigua Town Board has been a true honor,” she shared. “I have been honored to work with so many dedicated Town employees and elected officials who tirelessly ensure our Town is efficient while considering the needs of every resident.”
Throughout her tenure, Cook Rudolph played a pivotal role in several initiatives aimed at enhancing the community. As Finance Chair, she prioritized fiscal responsibility by bolstering infrastructure reserves and capital projects while maintaining transparency. She also championed employee-focused policies to create a family-first work environment and make the town a competitive employer.
Her leadership extended to environmental stewardship and community development. Notable accomplishments included securing 20 acres of parkland in the Onanda Park area and overseeing the ongoing redesign of the Onanda Uplands. She also advanced sustainability measures by drafting regulations for solar panel installations and short-term rentals while working to protect the town’s cherished lake from environmental pressures.
“I have worked hard to protect the lake from additional environmental pressure and helped to write new regulations,” Cook Rudolph said. She also spearheaded the Sidewalk Envisionment Map, which has already led to the development of sidewalks in key areas such as North Road and Middle Cheshire Road.
As Cook Rudolph transitions to her new role, she remains committed to Canandaigua’s future. “I hope to continue to volunteer in Canandaigua, ensuring that it remains a place my children will someday choose to raise their families in the decades to come,” she said.
Residents and colleagues alike have praised her dedication, emphasizing her ability to balance innovation with respect for Canandaigua’s rich history.
Cook Rudolph thanked the community for their trust and support, stating, “It has been my honor to serve you and the Town of Canandaigua.”
