Canandaigua Town Board to hold budget workshop tonight

The Canandaigua Town Board is scheduled to meet Monday evening for a 2025 budget workshop, as the town begins discussions on its fiscal priorities for the upcoming year. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. in the Onnalinda Room at Town Hall.

The agenda for the meeting includes a review of the proposed 2025 budget, which will guide the town’s spending and financial decisions in the next fiscal year. The session is open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend either in person or virtually via Zoom. Those joining online must register in advance, and participants will have the opportunity to speak once acknowledged by board members.

The budget workshop is expected to cover key areas such as public services, infrastructure, and any changes in local taxes. This early-stage meeting will help shape the town’s financial strategy before the final budget is adopted later this year.

The meeting will begin with the Pledge of Allegiance, led by board member Jared Simpson, followed by roll call and confirmation from the Town Clerk that the meeting was properly advertised.

Public participation is welcomed, and individuals who wish to speak will be able to do so after using Zoom’s “raise hand” feature or chat box. However, screen sharing will not be allowed, and all participants will be muted upon entry to the meeting.
