Canandaigua Town Board approves Uptown Landing project with zoning incentives

The Canandaigua Town Board has approved a zoning incentive plan for Uptown Landing LLC, allowing a large-scale housing and commercial development near Parkside Drive and Fire Hall Road to proceed.

Approved on Oct. 27, the project includes 224 apartment units, 91 apartments with commercial space, 90 townhouses, and 230 single-family homes.

As part of the zoning incentive, the town will ease specific code requirements, allowing for less window transparency and more vinyl facades on buildings.

In return, Uptown Landing will fund community enhancements valued at over $800,000, including new sidewalks, playground equipment, restrooms, and paved trails in Blue Heron Park.
