A bizarre burglary at the Bath Ambulance building early Tuesday morning ended with a rooftop rescue. Officers responded around 2:45 a.m. to reports of a break-in, discovering the suspect had smashed the front door glass to gain entry.
When police arrived, the man was hanging from a second-story window but climbed onto the roof instead of coming down. Firefighters were called to safely bring him down after he refused to cooperate. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old James L. Dyer of Waterloo, was treated for self-inflicted injuries at a hospital.
Dyer now faces charges of burglary and criminal mischief. The incident remains under investigation.
