Dr. Terry Ward, superintendent of the Cato-Meridian Central School District, will step down on Jan. 4 after seven years to lead the North Syracuse Central School District. The Cato-Meridian Board of Education accepted his resignation on Nov. 18 and has named Michael Hoose as interim superintendent starting Jan. 6.
Ward highlighted milestones achieved during his tenure, including securing $40 million for capital projects, expanding programs like full-day prekindergarten, and enhancing extracurricular offerings. He expressed gratitude for the community’s collaboration and confidence in the district’s continued success.
Hoose, a veteran educator and former Cortland Enlarged City School District superintendent, will guide the district while a search for a permanent leader is conducted.
