The Newark Rotary Club recently celebrated its ninth annual Service Above Self Award night, recognizing individuals and organizations making a positive impact in the community.
Adam Olchewske, owner of Marshall Exteriors and a past Newark Rotary president, was honored for his role in launching the Newark Rotary Family Festival and supporting local and global projects focused on maternal and child health. He also backs the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Golisano Children’s Hospital, and provides roofing assistance to families in need.
The Newark Food Closet Corp., serving Wayne County since 1971, also received an award. Lisa Barrett, its president, accepted on behalf of the nonprofit, which operates out of Emmanuel Methodist Church and relies on 26 volunteers to assist local families.
