Trump readies sweeping Day One actions, prioritizing immigration and military policies

Donald Trump’s incoming administration is planning a rapid rollout of executive actions after his Jan. 20 inauguration, aiming to fulfill key campaign promises. Initial measures include curbing illegal immigration with up to five executive orders and imposing more socially conservative health care policies for military personnel, such as limiting access to abortion travel and gender-affirming care.

Trump’s team, leveraging years of preparation, is crafting policies to demonstrate a stark break from President Joe Biden’s administration. Immigration enforcement is expected to be central, with mass deportation plans targeting individuals deemed threats. Other priorities include tax cuts, ending foreign conflicts, and rebuilding relationships on the global stage.

Trump allies acknowledge logistical challenges, particularly with large-scale deportations and implementing broad policies. However, they emphasize the urgency of swift action during his constitutionally limited term, with a focus on making immediate and lasting impacts.
