The City of Auburn is seeking public input through an online survey to help guide the allocation of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the 2025-2030 period. These funds, provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, are earmarked for programs and projects that benefit low to moderate-income residents and enhance neighborhoods throughout the city.
Every five years, Auburn develops a Consolidated Plan for the CDBG program and conducts an Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing. Both are critical in ensuring that federal funds are used effectively to address local needs. City officials are encouraging residents to participate in the survey to share their priorities and ideas for community development initiatives.
“This is an opportunity for every Auburn resident to have a say in how we shape the future of our city,” the city stated in a public notice. “Your feedback is crucial in ensuring the programs we implement meet the needs of our diverse population.”
The survey will inform city leaders about the types of projects residents feel are most beneficial, such as housing improvements, neighborhood revitalization, or services for vulnerable populations. The input will directly influence Auburn’s strategy for utilizing CDBG funds over the next five years.
Residents can access the survey online at SurveyMonkey link. City officials are urging as many people as possible to participate to ensure the community’s diverse voices are heard.
The survey is open now and will remain active until further notice. For additional information, residents can visit the City of Auburn’s official website at auburnny.gov.
