New York Cash App users who experienced unauthorized access to their accounts have until Nov. 18, 2024, to file claims for compensation from a $15 million settlement.
The settlement follows a class action lawsuit accusing Cash App of failing to prevent unauthorized account access and mishandling customer complaints after data breaches in 2021 and 2023 exposed user information.
Eligible users include those whose accounts were accessed without permission or who experienced fraudulent withdrawals between Aug. 23, 2018, and Aug. 20, 2024. Claims may cover out-of-pocket losses up to $2,500, compensation for lost time, and documented transaction losses.
