Geneva will make a second bid for state funding to support a $5.2 million plan converting the former DeSales High School into 17 market-rate apartments.
The Finger Lakes Times reports after missing out on a Restore NY grant earlier this year, city officials, encouraged by Empire State Development, are reapplying, setting a Dec. 4 public hearing to move forward with the grant process. Massa Construction is leading the development.
The 25,000-square-foot property will feature two-bedroom units, though affordable or senior housing options are not included. Funding sources include $1.7 million in bank loans, historic tax credits, and additional state and federal support.
