Two arrested in Canandaigua for child endangerment after altercation

Two Canandaigua residents were arrested last month after an alleged altercation on Bristol Street that authorities say took place in the presence of two young children.

Kollen Simmons, 31, and Shane Hartman were taken into custody on October 23 at 10:12 p.m. and each charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Police responded to a disturbance call and, following an investigation, determined that the two engaged in a physical altercation while two three-year-old children were present.

In addition to the child endangerment charges, Hartman faces an additional charge of obstructing governmental administration after he allegedly refused to provide fingerprints and a photograph following his arrest.

Both Simmons and Hartman were transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
