As Election Day ticks closer, Ontario County is continuing to see high engagement in early voting and mail-in ballot returns, according to data from the Ontario County Board of Elections.
As of 8 p.m. on November 1, a total of 14,113 residents had cast their votes across the county’s three early voting sites in Canandaigua, Geneva, and Victor. Daily turnout ranged from 1,778 to 2,502 voters, with the highest turnout recorded on October 26, the first day of early voting.
Mail-in voting has also drawn strong participation, with 4,376 ballots returned out of 5,863 issued to voters. Of those, 1,851 were submitted by Democratic and Working Families party affiliates, 1,411 by Republican and Conservative affiliates, and 1,114 by unaffiliated or minor-party voters. Additionally, 167 ballots were returned from military and federal overseas voters.
Ontario County has 78,655 active registered voters and 7,362 inactive voters eligible to participate. Voters unable to participate in early voting still have the opportunity to vote on Election Day at any of the 44 polling locations across the county’s 92 election districts.
