Sen. Mannion Denies Toxic Workplace Allegations Ahead of Primary

New York State Sen. John Mannion is calling recent allegations of creating a toxic work environment a smear campaign aimed at damaging his bid for a congressional seat.

An open letter from “Concerned Mannion Staff” accuses Mannion and his wife of verbal abuse and sexism. Three former staffers, speaking anonymously, shared similar experiences, claiming harassment and retaliation during their employment from 2020 to 2022. These claims have not been independently verified.

Mannion denied the allegations, stating he has never faced complaints in his career. He attributes the timing of the accusations, just days before the Democratic primary, to dirty politics. The New York State Senate is investigating the matter, and Mannion’s opponent, Sarah Klee Hood, is waiting for the investigation’s results before commenting.

Primary Day is June 25, and early voting is already underway.
