Wayne County couple receives voter mail for deceased relative

A Wayne County couple is raising concerns after receiving voter information for a deceased relative, sparking confusion and prompting action from local election officials.

RochesterFirst.com reports Dawn Briner, who resides in Ontario, received mail cards addressed to her late father-in-law, Werner, and her mother-in-law, Emma. Werner has been deceased for over 20 years, while Emma recently moved into assisted living.

Wayne County Board of Elections explained that voter records were transferred from Monroe County’s system after a forwarding address was updated.

Assemblyman Brian Manktelow is working with election officials to address gaps in voter record updates, noting that better public education on these processes is needed to maintain voter integrity.
