New York voters will weigh in on crucial state and federal seats on November 5, with the state’s 48th Senate District seeing a high-stakes face-off. After Cayuga County’s redistricting into a single Senate District in 2020, it now includes parts of Onondaga County, including Skaneateles and Syracuse.
Senator Rachel May, the current officeholder, is vying to retain her seat against Caleb Slater, the Republican challenger. Both candidates participated in a recent forum, where May and Slater fielded questions about policy and priorities from Robert Harding, longtime Government & Public Policy Reporter for The Citizen.
