The villages of Aurora, Cayuga, and Union Springs have narrowed their list of projects to submit for New York’s $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative award.
In their final meeting, the committee selected 17 projects, including park upgrades, a new waterfront park in Aurora, and a major redevelopment for Beacon Bay Marina in Cayuga, which seeks $2.5 million of the DRI funds.
The list, which also includes private developments like a mixed-use building in Union Springs, will undergo state review. Cayuga Mayor Don Wilson, co-chair of the committee, praised the final slate, calling it a “fair representation” of the villages’ needs.
The state will announce the projects selected for funding in early 2025.
