Lyons is proposing to replace its entire zoning chapter with a new townwide zoning law.
The Town Board has determined that the proposed rewrite would not have a significant adverse environmental impact, according to an Oct. 7 environmental notice.
The action would delete Chapter 300 of the Town Code in its entirety and replace it with a new Chapter 300 titled “Town of Lyons Zoning Law.”
The board served as lead agency for the environmental review. The notice identifies the scope as townwide but does not describe individual zoning districts, dimensional requirements or permitted uses in the replacement text.
The environmental finding does not, by itself, establish that the new law has been adopted or taken effect. The notice provides no adoption vote, effective date or public hearing schedule.
The town contact is James Brady at 43 Phelps St., Lyons, NY 14489. Residents can call 315-946-6252, extension 101, for information about the proposed update.
