A Corning woman has been charged in connection with a police chase and multiple theft-related incidents, according to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office.
Kellie M. Kelley, 39, was arrested on Oct. 26 following a superior court warrant issued by the Chemung County Court.
Kelley faces charges of second-degree identity theft and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, both class E felonies, along with a petit larceny misdemeanor.
The charges stem from her involvement in a June 23 incident in the Town of Catlin, where a vehicle in which Kelley was a passenger evaded deputies investigating a theft series. Kelley reportedly provided a false name and feigned injury, but medical checks confirmed she was unhurt.
Currently held at the Chemung County Jail, Kelley has been issued appearance tickets for Catlin Town Court, where she will face additional charges of second-degree criminal impersonation and obstruction of governmental administration.
