Auburn chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace to celebrate milestone 1,000th bed

The NY-Auburn Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is preparing to celebrate a major milestone on Saturday, November 16, as it completes the build of its 1,000th bed for children in need. The event, part of the chapter’s Thanks=Giving Build Day, will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fingerlakes Mall in Auburn, and members of the media are invited to attend.

The event will spotlight the chapter’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that no child in the community sleeps on the floor. Founded on the belief that a bed is essential for a child’s physical, emotional, and mental well-being, SHP works across the country to build and deliver beds to children in need. The Auburn chapter’s milestone reflects years of dedication and support from volunteers and the community.

Drew Scharoun, a representative of the NY-Auburn chapter, encourages the public and media to join in celebrating the accomplishment. “This is a powerful moment for us, for our volunteers, and for the families we serve,” he said. “Reaching 1,000 beds demonstrates our community’s compassion and commitment to helping local kids.”

To learn more about the event or to confirm attendance, media representatives can contact the NY-Auburn chapter by email at [email protected] or by calling (315) 294-0674.
