Authorities are investigating an early morning house fire that left several people injured on Saturday in Dresden.

The Yates County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies and multiple fire departments responded to a blaze at 65 Main Street around 1:26 a.m. Dresden, Penn Yan, and West Lake Road fire departments worked to contain the fire, with mutual aid provided by nearby departments, including Himrod and Branchport Keuka Park.
The fire began on the porch of the residence, and its cause remains under investigation. The Yates County Fire Investigation Team is currently assessing the scene.
Three residents sustained injuries while escaping the burning home. Susan C. Boyd, 65, of Dresden, suffered burns to her face and body and was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital. Marissa L. Newton, 21, and Shane L. Jensen, 40, both suffered lacerations; they were transported to Strong Memorial and Geneva General Hospital, respectively. Two juveniles present in the home were not injured.
EMS teams from Yates County, Penn Yan, Middlesex, and Gorham assisted at the scene. Authorities, including the New York State Police and local emergency management teams, also supported the response effort.
A GoFundMe was launched Saturday for two of the victims that lived in the home.
