A historic former trolley power station in Wayne County, is set for demolition to make way for a new Department of Public Works facility.
The Savannah structure was featured on the Landmark Society of Western New York’s endangered list. However, county officials determined that renovating the building would be too costly, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
The new facility, estimated at $1 million, will replace the aging structure, known as the Patrol Barn.
Demolition is expected to occur this winter, with construction of the new building starting in the spring of 2025.
