A Canandaigua man was arrested early on October 18 following a disturbance on Jefferson Avenue that led to multiple charges, including violating a protection order.
Demetrius Bronson, 44, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and resisting arrest after a physical altercation with an individual who had an active order of protection against him, police said. During the incident, Bronson allegedly took the victim’s cellphone as they attempted to call 911.
Bronson was later located at a motel on County Road 50, where he resisted officers’ attempts to arrest him. He was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
