FamilyCare Medical Group CEO Dr. Mitchell Brodey is telling local media he has renewed optimism after recent negotiations with Excellus BlueCross BlueShield are taking place. Officials are hopeful for a potential resolution to the months-long standoff.
He recently spoke to WSYR-TV after a Thursday meeting, which was viewed as a significant step forward from stalled talks.
The current agreement between FamilyCare and Excellus is set to expire on Jan. 1, potentially impacting thousands of patients.
Negotiations with other healthcare providers, including St. Joseph’s Health and WellNow Urgent Care, are also continuing as Excellus works to resolve multiple agreements.
