Not much of anything went right for the New York Mets on Wednesday night at Citi Field as they were shut by the Los Angeles Dodgers, 8-0, in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series.
The Dodgers, who took a 2-1 lead in the series, held the Mets to just four hits, all of which were singles. New York went 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position and left eight on base.
In addition to that, the Mets bullpen struggled, which helped the Dodgers break the game open. After Luis Severino surrendered two unearned runs in 4.2 innings, Reed Garrett allowed two runs, and Tylor Megill gave up four.
The Mets look to even the series in Game 4 on Thursday at 8:08 p.m., with Jose Quintana on the hill.
