Just 24 hours after getting demolished in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series, the New York Mets bounced back with a 7-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 2 on Monday evening.
New York scored six of its seven runs in the first two innings, capped by a Mark Vientos grand slam. Francisco Lindor led off the game with a solo shot, while Tyrone Taylor added a run-scoring double.
Starling Marte had a team-high three hits, including an RBI single in the ninth that gave New York more breathing room.
Sean Manaea surrendered three runs (two earned) over five innings of work. Phil Maton, Ryne Stanek, and Edwin Díaz each recorded four outs.
The series shifts to Citi Field on Wednesday for Game 3, with the first pitch slated for 8:08 p.m.
