A Clyde man faces multiple charges following a collision on Whiskey Hill Road in Waterloo after he fled from a traffic stop earlier in the day.
On October 6, at around 10:31 a.m., State Police troopers from SP Lyons were responding to a disturbance near Clyde-Marengo Road and Turnpike Road in the town of Galen when they encountered the suspect, 34-year-old Nathan K. Isaacson of Clyde. Isaacson was driving a 2016 Chevy westbound when troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, Isaacson failed to comply and a brief pursuit ensued. The chase was terminated shortly afterward due to safety concerns as Isaacson reached dangerously high speeds.
Later that evening, at approximately 10:36 p.m., Isaacson was traveling southbound on Whiskey Hill Road in Waterloo when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with State Route 96. His vehicle collided with a 2013 Nissan driven by 63-year-old Cindy M. Bourne of Geneva, who was traveling east on Route 96. Bourne was checked by EMS at the scene and reported no injuries.
Isaacson sustained minor injuries and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released. Following the collision, police discovered Isaacson was in possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
Isaacson has been charged with multiple misdemeanors, including unlawful fleeing of a police officer, obstruction of governmental administration, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, aggravated unlicensed operation, and possession of a controlled substance in a non-original container. He was also cited for numerous traffic violations.
Isaacson is scheduled to appear in the Town of Waterloo Court on October 23 at 5:00 p.m.
