German Brothers zoning change rejected by Canandaigua: What happens next?

The Canandaigua Town Board has turned down a request from German Brothers Marina owner Peter Bruu to rezone his property on West Lake Road from lake residential to incentive zoning.

The decision, made on March 25, was based on the assessment that the community benefits proposed by Bruu, such as public restrooms and a new crosswalk, did not justify the significant changes he wanted to make, including adding more boat slips and building a restaurant and cabins.

Following the rejection, Town Supervisor Jared Simpson stated Bruu could submit a new rezoning application, provided it differs significantly from the one denied. Bruu has yet to respond to the decision.
