Libraries in New York’s 54th District will receive over $800,000 in funding through the state’s Public Library Construction Aid Program, according to an announcement from Senator Pam Helming. The funding will support infrastructure improvements and capital projects at libraries across the district.
The following libraries have been allocated funds:
- Avon Free Library, Livingston County: $263,063
- Geneva Public Library, Ontario County: $116,055
- Clifton Springs Library, Ontario County: $68,456
- Wood Library Association, Ontario County: $103,368
- Phelps Library, Ontario County: $64,261
- Victor Farmington Library, Ontario County: $144,913
- Bloomfield Public Library, Ontario County: $51,630
- Naples Library, Ontario County: $29,660
- Macedon Public Library, Wayne County: $5,083
- Williamson Public Library, Wayne County: $34,013
- Clyde-Savannah Public Library, Wayne County: $6,591
Senator Helming highlighted the role of local libraries in providing access to resources and technology for the community. The funding comes as part of a broader effort to support public libraries across the state, particularly in small and rural areas. In 2021, Helming co-sponsored legislation that expanded funding opportunities for libraries under the Public Library Construction Aid Program.
The funds will be used for capital improvements such as renovations, accessibility upgrades, and infrastructure projects, ensuring that local libraries can continue to meet the needs of their communities.
