Drunk driving arrest follows late-night traffic stop in Canandaigua

A 45-year-old Canandaigua man was arrested Wednesday night after a traffic stop on State Route 332 led deputies to discover he was allegedly driving intoxicated. The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reported that around 10:03 p.m., deputies pulled over Michael T. Alis for vehicle violations in the Town of Canandaigua.

Authorities say Alis was found to have a blood alcohol content exceeding 0.08% after submitting to a chemical breath test. He was taken into custody without incident, processed at the Ontario County Jail, and later released. Alis faces multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated, unsafe lane change, inadequate plate lamps, and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in the vehicle.

He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Canandaigua Court at a later date to respond to the charges.
