Connor Zilisch wins Xfinity Series debut in thrilling overtime finish at Watkins Glen

Connor Zilisch made an unforgettable debut in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, winning the Mission 200 at The Glen after securing pole position and navigating a chaotic double-overtime finish. Zilisch, utilizing a bold fuel strategy, took advantage of a penalty to himself and fellow leaders Ty Gibbs and Sam Mayer, allowing him to make a stunning charge through the field.

Chaos ensues as cars wreck during the overtime period in the Xfinity Series race.

While other top contenders, including Shane Van Gisbergen and William Byron, were forced to pit, Zilisch held his lead despite a flurry of late-race cautions and wrecks. After multiple restarts and a final lap filled with chaos, the 18-year-old crossed the finish line under yellow to secure his first Xfinity Series win.

Sheldon Creed finished second, marking his 12th career runner-up finish, followed by AJ Allmendinger, Chandler Smith, and Van Gisbergen in the top five. You can find the full results here. The Xfinity Series heads to Bristol next for the regular season finale.
