A Newark man faces multiple charges after being stopped for speeding in Geneva early Wednesday morning. The Geneva Police Department pulled over Fernando Vazquez-Rodriguez, 48, at around 6 a.m. on West North Street after officers clocked him driving 58 mph in a 30 mph zone.

During the stop, officers noticed an open container of alcohol within Vazquez-Rodriguez’s reach. Further investigation revealed that he was intoxicated, with a blood alcohol content of .24%, three times the legal limit.
