Motorists in downtown Canandaigua will need to adjust to new traffic patterns. The changes took effect yesterday, as Phoenix Street became a one-way eastbound from South Main to Mill Street, while Coach Street converted to a one-way westbound from South Main to nearby public parking lots.
City officials said the changes aim to enhance safety and improve traffic flow. The adjustments follow recommendations from a committee involving the city and the downtown Business Improvement District.
In addition to traffic flow improvements, the changes will allow for beautification efforts on Phoenix Street and better parking access on Coach Street, benefiting both pedestrians and motorists.
