Luis Severino recorded his second complete-game shutout as the New York Mets (64-59) secured a series win over the Miami Marlins (45-78) with a 4-0 victory on Saturday at Citi Field.
Severino tossed a 113-pitch, four-hit, eight-strikeout gem to improve to 8-6 on the season while lowering his ERA to 3.91.
Francisco Lindor (24) and Pete Alonso (27) launched solo home runs. Mark Vientos had a run-scoring double and Jesse Winker added an RBI single.
The Mets look to complete the three-game sweep of the Marlins on Sunday at 12:05 p.m. with Paul Blackburn on the hill.
