A contractor was airlifted to the hospital Thursday morning after his pickup truck plunged 40 feet into Seneca Lake. The incident occurred on a construction site along Staudt Road when the truck rolled into the lake.
Emergency officials reported that the driver attempted to stop the vehicle by jumping in, but was unsuccessful. The truck hit several trees before landing partially submerged.
Rescue teams quickly retrieved the contractor, who was alert and conscious, and transported him to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. The extent of his injuries remains unknown.
