The Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) of the United Way of Seneca County is transforming its annual Fill the Bus event, which has provided thousands of school supplies to local students for the past eight years. Recognizing the changing educational landscape and increased school funding for supplies, WLC will now focus on collecting school snacks to address rising food insecurity.
“With food prices soaring, many families struggle to provide snacks for their children,” said a WLC spokesperson. “Teachers, who once used their own money for school supplies, are now purchasing snacks for their students.”
