The U.S. Women’s Eight rowing team, featuring Burdett’s Olivia Coffey in seat 7, secured second place in their heat on Monday, advancing to the repechage round on Thursday in a bid for a spot in the Saturday final at the Paris Olympics.
Romania won the heat and advanced directly to the final, alongside Great Britain, the winner of the first heat. Of the remaining five boats, four will qualify for the final.
The team includes Ithaca College alum Meghan Musnicki in seat five, with Molly Bruggeman, Margaret Hedeman, Maddie Wanamaker, Claire Collins, Regina Salmons, stroke Charlotte Buck, and coxswain Nina Castagna.
