Rochester-based Wegmans has been named the second-best supermarket in the nation, according to Newsweek’s 2024 rankings. The grocer scored 90.89, just behind Great Wall Supermarket, which took the top spot with a score of 92.69.
The rankings were based on an independent survey of over 7,000 U.S. customers who have made purchases or used services in the past three years. Wegmans, known for its large, distinctive stores, has over 100 locations across eight states, including New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
Other top-ranked supermarkets include Publix, The Fresh Market, Sprouts, and Whole Foods Market. Wegmans also made USA Today’s 2023 list of the “10 Best Grocery Stores in the U.S.”
