DMV doesn’t always send registration renewal reminders by mail: Why?

The DMV still sends registration renewal notices by mail, but you might have been switched to email or text notifications automatically.

In 2015, the DMV started transitioning to electronic reminders to save taxpayers $500,000 annually. If you completed an online transaction, you were likely moved to paperless notifications and informed via email.

If you prefer to keep receiving paper reminders, you can request this on the DMV’s website.
