Authorities say a Groton man was taken into custody after a pursuit that began in Tompkins County.
Joshua F. Conklin, 35, from Groton, was arrested on multiple charges after a police chase that began in Dryden. Officers tried to stop Conklin as he left the Dryden Hotel in a black Mustang on July 10, but he fled.
Conklin led police on a chase through Cortland and Tompkins counties, nearly hitting construction workers before crashing into the woods. He tried to flee on foot and steal cars but was eventually caught with a stun gun.
Authorities found 16 ounces of meth and two shotguns in his car. Conklin faces several charges, including possession of meth, reckless endangerment, and attempting to steal vehicles. He was taken to Tompkins County Jail.
