Ithaca seeks community input for Downtown Revitalization Initiative application

The City of Ithaca is applying for New York State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) to potentially receive $10 million for downtown projects. These projects aim to revitalize the area and enhance community vibrancy. The application will focus on West State/MLK Jr Street and Ithaca’s West End, connecting the waterfront, Ithaca Commons, and other downtown areas.

The city, with help from MRB Group, is seeking project ideas from organizations, businesses, and other entities. Those planning capital investments in the designated area can submit project forms by August 5th at 5 p.m. Forms and more information are available at https://tinyurl.com/IthacaDRI2024.

An informational webinar will be held on July 19th at 9 a.m., and an in-person meeting is scheduled for August 19th at 5:30 p.m. at the Tompkins County Public Library. The community is encouraged to provide input and feedback throughout the process via the application website. Public participation is crucial for a strong application.
