New York energy costs rank among nation’s highest

With energy costs expected to soar during a potentially record-hot summer, WalletHub has released its 2024 report on Energy Costs by State. The report reveals how energy bills vary across the country based on location and usage.

In New York, the average monthly energy bill is $589. The state ranks 9th for electricity prices and 3rd for home heating oil prices, but it has lower consumption rates for both electricity and motor fuel.
