Canandaigua City Manager Appointed to NYCOM Executive Committee

City Manager John Goodwin has been appointed to a one-year term on the New York State Conference of Mayors and Municipal Officials (NYCOM) Executive Committee. Goodwin, who has been city manager since 2017, is the only member of the committee who is not a mayor.

The appointment was made by RuthAnn Loveless, mayor of Hamilton and NYCOM president. She praised Goodwin’s hands-on experience and professional qualifications, saying his knowledge and success will benefit NYCOM.

Goodwin, who holds a master’s degree in public administration from Rockefeller College at UAlbany, is an ICMA-credentialed city manager. He also serves as president of the New York State City/County Management Association and is involved in NYCOM’s employee relations and public safety committee.
