A Naples firefighter was hospitalized following a house fire in Ontario County on Wednesday afternoon. The fire began in the garage of a home on Atlanta-Garlinghouse Road around 2:30 p.m. and quickly spread throughout the structure.
Naples Fire Chief CJ Stephens reported that propane tanks discharged due to the heat but were quickly managed. Six fire departments from Dansville to Richmond assisted in controlling the blaze, which took about two hours due to the remote location and lack of hydrants. “All the water had to be hauled in,” Stephens explained.
One firefighter was taken to the hospital as a precaution due to the high temperatures and heat from the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
