Auburn natives promoted at The Commons as Loretto expands services

The Commons on St. Anthony has promoted two longtime employees, Jolene Crehan and Rebecca Staring, as part of its ongoing expansion in Cayuga County.

Jolene Crehan, RN, BSN, LHNA, has been named Administrator, overseeing 361 staff members and nine departments. Crehan, an Auburn native, has worked at Loretto for nearly 20 years, starting as a CNA in 2005 and recently serving as Director of Nursing. She holds several nursing qualifications, including a Nursing Home Administrator Certification from Utica University.

Rebecca Staring has been promoted to Director of Nursing. With 25 years of experience at Loretto, Staring began as a Certified Nurse Aide in 1999 and became a registered nurse in 2003. She manages over 150 direct care staff and recently earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Both Crehan and Staring played key roles in opening The Commons’ new Memory Special Care Unit in February. This 40-bed facility is Auburn’s first dedicated to dementia care. “We are incredibly fortunate to have these inspirational women at the helm,” said Loretto President and CEO Dr. Kimberly Townsend.
