Big changes proposed for former YMCA in Canandaigua: Dining, craft beer, and event space coming in 2025

Capstone Real Estate Development received a variance from the city Zoning Board of Appeals to repurpose the former Canandaigua YMCA located on North Main Street into a dining, craft beer tasting, and event space.

Don Lasher, CEO of the Rochester-based development company, announced that construction will focus on repurposing the interior of the 55,000-square-foot facility, starting this fall. The project, including a restaurant, offices, and event spaces, is expected to open by March or April 2025.

The iconic Post Office portion of the building will house a restaurant seating up to 100 guests, with offices on the upper floors.
