Rochester man arrested for identity theft in Ontario County

Authorities took a Rochester man into custody for violating an active court order and identity theft, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested Zachari D. James, 26, of Rochester, at Barth Towing and Service on Ridge Road for third-degree identity theft, petit larceny, and criminal contempt.

The arrest occurred at approximately 12:14 p.m. following an investigation into an incident where James allegedly violated a full stay-away order of protection.


James was held for CAP arraignment and will appear in Farmington Town Court at a later date to address the charges.

Deputies said the investigation remains active.
