Two members of the Seneca Falls Police Department were recognized for their exceptional service at last week’s Town Board meeting. Chief Tim Snyder announced that Sgt./Inv. Martin Rotz received the 2023 Officer of the Year Award, while Sgt. Eric MacLean was honored with the 2023 Outstanding Officer of the Year Award.

Chief Snyder praised Rotz and MacLean for their leadership and dedication to community safety, stating, “Their hard work and dedication has not gone unnoticed. Their commitment to excellence is an inspiration to us all.”

Additionally, Snyder reported April’s department statistics, highlighting 2,708 duty-related events, 783 calls for service, 291 traffic stops, and 44 criminal charges. The department also responded to 22 mental health-related calls and worked with the Seneca County Crisis Response Team on three occasions.
