The Town Highway Department announced that Middle Cheshire Road is slated for a major asphalt resurfacing project from May 14th through May 21st, potentially causing traffic delays. The work will begin by removing up to two inches of the current asphalt, starting at the intersection of Whitecliff Drive and extending to Routes 5&20 on May 14th and 15th. During this phase, the road will see alternating one-way traffic management to facilitate the removal.
Following the removal, the department will lay new asphalt on May 20th and 21st, during which residents might face delays accessing their driveways until the new layer is fully compacted. Motorists are advised to plan for additional travel time and be prepared for possible changes in the schedule should weather conditions impact the work.
Residents with questions or concerns about the construction can contact the Canandaigua Town Highway Department at 585-394-3300 or via email at [email protected].
